President Trump officially made ‘human exploration of Mars’ apart of NASA’s mission, making it federal law to eventually land on Mars. The bill gives $19.5 billion in spending for NASA.

“For almost six decades, NASA’s work has inspired millions and millions of Americans to imagine distant worlds and a better future right here on earth .. I’m delighted to sign this bill. It’s been a long time since a bill like this has been signed, reaffirming our commitment to the core mission of NASA: human space exploration, space science and technology.”-President Donald Trump

The bill designates NASA to deploy “crewed mission to Mars in the 2030s”

Trump joked with Rubio and Cruz, asking if either senator would like to fly to Mars. Cruz joked by saying “We could send Congress to space”

Sen. Cruz noted that the bill marks the first time NASA’s been legislatively authorized in 7 long years.

VP Pence met with one of first 2 men to step on the moon, Buzz Aldrin, to discuss.
