For the first time in his NFL career, he is now a free agent and since last week no team has been interested in him. An anonymous AFC general manager reportedly told Bleacher Report that Kaepernick “can still play at a high level” but “some teams fear the backlash from fans” if they signed him.
The GM also reportedly said that some teams would fear their fans would protest against Kaepernick or President Trump would tweet out against Kaepernick. Trump once slammed Kaepernick for kneeling during the anthem.
The GM also said that many teams “genuinely hate him” and “can’t stand” him for kneeling during the national anthem.
