Arkansas Online broke the story. Arkansas quit giving out food stamp waivers to the unemployed on January 1, 2016 and by April, 9 thousand people were off of food stamps. A report said, Arkansas stopped granting waivers to work requirements January 1, 2016, and by April, 9,000 people were off of food stamps, also called Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits. Another 15,000 more lost their benefits between April and November, a spokesperson for the Arkansas Department of Human Services told Arkansas Online.
