WARNING: Vulgar Language & Disturbing Violence In The Video Below.
As you just saw, the Fort Worth police officer arrived to the scene and got into a verbal confrontation with the family. Things quickly broke down and resulted in violence.
After the officer suggested the woman teach her kids not to litter, the woman became enraged. Then for some unknown reason the police officer steps out of line and grabs the woman’s daughter and after that all hell broke loose.
As you saw, the police officer wrestled the mother to the ground — rather brutally. And it seemed as if he stepped way, way out of line when he abrasively grabbed the woman’s daughter — which caused the situation to spiral out of control. I’ve gotta say, from my perspective, this cop has gotta get his sh*t together .. because he did not handle this nicely nor did he handle it professionally.
Jacqueline Craig had called police Wednesday to report that a neighbor had choked her son to get him to pick up trash. She and the responding officer, whose name has not been released, got into a verbal altercation. By the end of the encounter, the officer had handcuffed Craig and her two daughters, ages 15 and 19.
The officer is facing heavy criticism from many people across the country after the video went viral. As of right now, nearly 3 million people have seen the Facebook video [along with many other people seeing the footage on different platforms]. The policeman unnecessarily grabs the woman’s daughter, which caused the mother to intervene. The policeman then wrestles her to the concrete .. then the policeman points a stun gun at the mother’s daughter. The mother and her two daughters were then arrested.
The mother became truly emotional in a press conference just a day after the altercation and arrest. She said that she believe calling the police would help her son [since he reportedly got assaulted by an adult man for littering]. The mother was visibly heartbroken and said “It made me feel less of a parent that I couldn’t protect him when he needed it.”
The Fort Worth Police Department worked overnight by interviewing witnesses, reviewing the video [that’s now gone viral], and reviewing the footage from the policeman’s body camera. The Fort Worth Police Department issued two public statements, alerting the public that they are vigorously investigating the situation.
One of the statements says:
“We acknowledge that the initial appearance of the video may raise serious questions. We ask that our investigators are given the time and opportunity to thoroughly examine this incident and to submit their findings. This process may take time.”
The department also clarified that they cannot release the body cam footage to the public because of state law prohibiting it while an internal investigation is ongoing. Here are the two tweets issued out by the official Twitter handle of the department.
The police officer in the video has been placed on restricted duty after this incident. There are plethora of details remaining about this developing story. You can get the rest of the in-depth scoop here. Check it out. Intriguing story.
