Colin Kaepernick, QB for the 49ers, has generated a lot of controversy this year. He refuses to stand for the national anthem before NFL games, because of his belief that black people are not treated fairly in America.
His decision to not respect the flag, which is his Constitutional right, has enraged many.
To me, personally, I don’t care whether he stands for the anthem or not. Is it disrespectful? I mean, I guess to some people. But the way I see it, if you are not truly proud to be an American then fine.
So Kaepernick’s thriving off of America’s capitalist-system. He’s making millions a year for throwing a ball on a field. He’s supporting the ‘anti-cop’ group, Black Lives Matter, that calls for the deaths of police officers. He’s pushing a false narrative, that has been debunked! And he’s not standing for the US flag and the national anthem, due to the false narrative he believes! The President-elect, Donald Trump, denounced Kaepernick for kneeling during the anthem. But Kaepernick doesn’t like the President-elect.
So Kaepernick, if you want to kneel or sit down during the national anthem, then that’s fine with me. You may infuriate people with your decision, but it doesn’t make me mad. If you don’t feel patriotic, then don’t stand for the national anthem. Kaepernick’s choice [to refuse to stand for the anthem] does not offend [nor does it bother] me, personally. But, nevertheless, his decision to not stand for the anthem has generated a really big buzz. And it’s also [somewhat surprisingly] boosted his jersey sales SUBSTANTIALLY.
Okay, moving on … So, we all remember that time when Kaepernick [hypocritically] wore a Fidel Castro shirt.
Kaepernick suffered from a lot of backlash, due to wearing the Fidel Castro shirt.. But I doubt he really cared! Lmao.
Kaepernick recently talked with the media over the phone, well the media asked Kaepernick why he wore the Fidel Castro shirt.
[Kaepernick wore the shirt at a press conference, back in August of this year.]
When the media brought up the time when he wore the Fidel Castro shirt, Kaepernick tried to justify it:
“One thing that Fidel Castro did do is they [Cuba] have the highest literacy rate, because they invest more in their education system than they do in their prison system, which we do not do here, even though we’re fully capable of doing that.”-Colin Kaepernick
So yeah, Kaepernick kind of dodged addressing WHY he wore a Fidel Castro shirt.
Why would Kaepernick, who majorly prospers off of America’s capitalist-system, wear the shirt of an oppressive, communist dictator [who is responsible for poverty and massive amounts of death in Cuba]? The world may never know!
Well, Kaepernick couldn’t really justify [wearing] the Fidel Castro shirt — so he just zeroed in on one issue, and praised Fidel Castro for that one issue, while taking a shot at the USA and the high incarceration rate we have.
Well, Governor Mike Huckabee [Governor of Arkansas 1996-2007], had a response to Kaepernick’s statement about Fidel Castro.
BOOM! Gov. Huckabee just slammed Kaepernick! We have not seen Kaepernick reply to Gov. Huckabee, and I doubt we will. How could Kaepernick ever justify his admiration for a brutal, oppressive dictator like Fidel Castro?!
HE CAN’T JUSTIFY IT.
Listen, I do not care about Kaepernick. I don’t care that he refuses to stand for the anthem. It infuriates some people but it doesn’t infuriate me. I see why some people get mad over it though. And I also see why some people don’t care. But come on, Kaepernick, taking a ‘potshot’ at the USA’s prison system while praising Fidel Castro for the “high literacy rate”? A little absurd. LMAO.
So before I conclude this article, let’s take a look at some Kaepernick political cartoons.
This one is a cartoon that I expected to see. It’s logical. I do see why some Americans are upset that Colin Kaepernick won’t stand for the flag [that Americans have patriotically fought for and died for]. But then again, our US troops are the reason we have our freedoms. And our troops fight for our Constitutional rights. So whether you like it or not, and whether you find it disrespectful or not, it is Kaepernick’s Constitutional right to not stand for the anthem. [I, personally, think that Kaepernick’s refusal to stand for the anthem is (somewhat) disrespectful. But the way I see it, if you haven’t ever been in the US military — then why would you get so upset over this?]
[This one is pretty funny. Now it does say “KAEPERNICK SAFE SPACE” on the bench, which is definitely a cheap shot at Kaepernick since he is a backup QB, but it’s funny nevertheless. This one truly made me chuckle. I think the pacifier in his mouth is what made it so humorous.]
[This one is clever but it’s a little over the top. Just because some Americans are enraged about Kaepernick’s refusal to stand for the anthem, doesn’t mean they are all [or even the majority of them are] people who support the Confederate flag. Are there some people, that love the Confederate flag, yet hate Kaepernick for disrespecting the US flag? I am sure there is. But the overwhelming majority of people who are upset with Kaepernick, do not wave Confederate flags.]
