Former Candidate for the GOP Nomination, Dr. Ben Carson, has been asked to consider taking on the position of secretary of Housing and Urban Development in President-elect Trump’s Cabinet.
Dr. Ben Carson said multiple times that he would not join the Trump Cabinet, if he were offered a post. But now he is strongly considering to take on the position. The HUD secretary position was not OFFICIALLY OFFERED but Trump personally requested that Dr. Carson think it over.
Dr. Ben Carson ENDORSED President-elect Trump MUCH EARLIER than most Republicans did! And Dr. Carson was a staunch supporter of Trump throughout the rest of the campaign.
Dr. Carson’s spokesman tweeted this out earlier today.
Dr. Carson met with President-elect Trump just YESTERDAY at Trump Tower (NYC). And [just earlier today] on Facebook, Dr. Carson posted this:
“After serious discussions with the Trump transition team, I feel that I can make a significant contribution particularly to making our inner cities great for everyone. We have much work to do in strengthening every aspect of our nation and ensuring that both our physical infrastructure and our spiritual infrastructure is solid. An announcement is forthcoming about my role in helping to make America great again.”-Dr. Ben Carson
The neurosurgeon, Dr. Carson, was [REPORTEDLY] considered for Surgeon General and was also [REPORTEDLY] considered for the head of the Health and Human Services Department. But now we OFFICIALLY KNOW that Dr. Carson is CURRENTLY DECIDING whether or not he will take on the HUD secretary post.
After reading Dr. Carson’s tweet [above] and seeing his Facebook post, it looks like he’s ‘pretty much’ agreed to the position. But nothing has been officially declared yet.
