When the FBI Director James Comey reopened the investigation into Hillary’s crimes, just days before the election, many of The Democrats voiced their anger for his actions.
But Bernie Sanders, who was cheated out of winning the Democratic Primary, has chosen a different path than blaming Comey and instead said that it was not Comey’s fault for Hillary’s loss on Tuesday.
Hillary Clinton has recently blamed Comey for her loss to Donald Trump but Bernie said she is wrong to do so.
When Bernie was asked about this he said that Comey’s investigation into her e-mails is a “minor issue”.
“It’s not a question of what happens in the last week. The question is that she should have won this election by 10 percentage points.”-Bernie Sanders
Bernie’s opinion is the polar opposite of many Democrats’ opinions. Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-Manhattan) said that Comey should be fired for putting “his thumb on the scale of an election.”
“The president ought to fire Comey immediately. He [Comey] violated all the guidelines and put his thumb on the scale of an election.”-Jerry Nadler
Bernie refused to blame Comey for Clinton’s loss. Bernie blames The Democrats’ disconnection with the middle class.
“I will tell you I think there needs to be a profound change in the way the Democratic Party does business. It is not good enough to have a liberal elite. I come from the white working class and I am deeply humiliated that the Democratic Party cannot talk to the people from where I came from.”-Bernie Sanders
When asked if he [Bernie] believed whether he would’ve defeated Donald Trump or not, Bernie said, “I don’t know the answer to that – maybe, maybe not.”
Bernie continued to express his belief in the disconnection between The Democrats and the middle class.
“I know that the Democratic Party has got to stand with the working people of this country – feel their pain and take on the billionaire class, take on Wall Street, take on the drug companies.”-Bernie Sanders
